Mother London has appointed Omar El-Gammal and Miné Cakmak as its joint Heads of Strategy. 

Mother London has appointed Omar El-Gammal and Miné Cakmak as its joint Heads of Strategy. They will be responsible for leading the agency's strategic output.

Omar is a long-standing strategy leader in the Mother business, having led strategy on the Uber account in the UK and other markets.
New to the team is Miné who has moved from Los Angeles after an impressive career in the US. 

Chris Gallery, CSO at Mother said: "The challenges facing our clients are getting more complex: economically, culturally, technologically. Omar and Miné have the range to help them navigate all of it, and the ambition to make sure we are the best and most inspirational strategic partners possible for our clients."

Mother has hired Chris Chapman as executive design director, a new role for the agency.

Creative Review names Most Creative Agency 2025

Katie Mackay-Sinclair, Chris Gallery, Felix Richter and Teri Miller are elevated to global team, leading the Mother Family of agencies into the future

Mother has announced a newly formed global partnership group, the next generation set to lead the Mother Family of agencies. Approaching 30 years in business, and proudly remaining independent, the new operating group is tasked with stewarding Mother towards the next 30 years. The group will work with and report into global CEO Michael Wall and Mother’s founder, Robert Saville.

 (Global Chief Client Officer) who both joined Mother in 2022; and 

 (Global Chief Strategy Officer), who have been with Mother for almost their entire careers, and have led the evolution and successes of the London office over the past eight years. They will retain their existing responsibilities alongside their new global roles.

Felix Richter becomes Global Chief Creative Officer, the first in Mother’s history, and will be working closely with the CCO’s across Mother’s offices in Berlin, Los Angeles, New York and Shanghai, and continuing oversight of London’s creative output.

Felix joined Mother as CCO of the London office in 2022, after 11 years at Droga5 in New York. He has brought great creative momentum to Mother, winning multiple back-to-back Agency of the Year titles, including International Agency of the year from Adweek in 2024. Mother London’s most recent work for Uber, KFC and IKEA, amongst others, has been heavily lauded.

Teri Miller becomes Global Chief Client Officer and is also promoted to US CEO, reflecting her role in transforming and growing Mother in New York and Los Angeles. Teri joined Mother in 2022 as US President from 72andSunny. In her three years, she has been pivotal in Mother’s growth. In the past year alone, there are 11 new clients, including Electronic Arts, General Motors, BlackRock and General Mills.

Katie Mackay-Sinclair and Chris Gallery have been at Mother for 17 and 16 years, respectively, originally joining as strategists. They made the transition into leadership as Heads of Strategy, before becoming Partners of the London office and are responsible for Mother’s longest-running, most effective and creatively renowned client relationships there. As part of the global team, Katie is elevated to Global Chief Brand Officer and Chris assumes the role of Global Chief Strategy Officer.

With a dramatic rise in client interest in independents with global capabilities, Mother is doubling down on working together across offices and the Family of agencies, building on what they are already doing for clients including Uber, Google, Dow Jones, Blackrock, Electronic Arts and more.

Mother’s entrepreneurial spirit has seen them birth, support and co-create a best-in-class integrated offering, through the growth of Mother Design in both the US and UK markets, the successful launch of Media by Mother, as well as investment in independent creative businesses

We’ve welcomed Jägermeister to the Mother family

After being diagnosed with cerebral palsy after a lack of oxygen at birth, years later 27 year old Lewis Fisher was also told he would never take his own selfie.

It’s something he took upon himself to change and worked with photographer and friend Richard Ansett to do so.

Using a speech generator the duo have been telling us how this project came about, what a selfie means to Lewis and about an upcoming exhibition they have been working on together.

DAM Presents: Selfie

The exhibition “Ukrainian Dream” introduced visitors to the dream that all Ukrainians share in light of current events. The collection of chosen artworks comes from the “naive” style of modern Ukrainian art that features the stylistics of primitivism, which is most apparent in children’s drawings, folk art, primitive art, and Art Brut.

This exhibition presented 20 works of Ukrainian contemporary art from 13 artists from different regions of Ukraine.

From the gay Russian dolls we sent to the Kremlin and our Blood is Blood t-shirts – which were both designed to protest for gay rights – to giant inflatable boobs put on buildings in London to point out the ridiculousness of women being shamed for breast feeding in public.

We always used to say we came to work to “make our mother’s proud”, but this evolution to “Make Our Children Proud” even being a one word change, has changed everything. We sat down with Adage to tell them all about it, read the full story 

We’ll invest the first year profits from new retained clients who appoint Mother without a full creative pitch, into the future of creativity. Imagine if all agencies did this – we’d collectively redirect millions and millions of pounds from processes that don’t get to a better answer and we’d be able to use that money to reach out to encourage a more diverse and ultimately a more representative group of brilliant young creative people to choose to dedicate their careers to making brand more relevant and successful.

Make Our Children Proud

We hosted the Unsigned Union Film Class of 2022, showcasing unrepresented filmmakers to commissioners and creatives.

Unsigned Union exists to celebrate and support underrepresented creators and emerging artists – from photographers and directors through to animators and illustrators. It offers practical support with access to and opportunities within the advertising world.
